From our fine university, which loves to celebrate all things ’5′, comes word of the Grinch:
The Dakota State University Choir presents:
A musical interpretation of Dr. Seuss’s
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
Sunday, Dec. 12th @ 4:30 PM
Dakota Prairie Playhouse.
‘The concert is a musical interpretation of Dr. Seuss’s “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” Mayor Agustus Maywho of Whoville has graciously agreed to narrate the story throughout the concert, and the Grinch himself has agreed to participate. The citizen’s of Whoville will be singing songs that reflect the various aspects and themes of the story.
We will be doing traditional choir music, some jazzy numbers, and contemporary pop music. We even have original arrangements of songs that our own Nathan Edwards, and myself have arranged. SO, we’re doing music that no other choir in the country is doing. Kinda exciting.
The Mayer, the Grinch, and the citizen’s of Whoville are University Students. We also will be showcasing creative writing and Poetry by the University Students based on the theme of being an outsider, as well as original art from students in the art class. So there’s something for everyone’ – Sandy Champion, Music Director, DSU.
